Overview

Advisory on geospatial and load-data siting strategy for distributed renewable generation — replacing diesel generators with modular micro-wind systems for off-grid asset electrification.

Advised MoveAir, developer of the first modular micro-wind power system, on siting and energy-system strategy for deploying distributed generation onto existing infrastructure — telecom masts, bridges, ports and rooftops. The work applied geospatial and load-data analysis to match wind resource, site constraints and energy demand, replacing diesel generators on off-grid assets and cutting roughly 2–4 tonnes of CO₂ per mast per year, with IoT-based control for integration into wider energy-management systems. This engagement closed a consistent arc across the career: from location intelligence and connected infrastructure (HERE Technologies smart-city platforms and location-based-services patents), through emerging charging networks where that spatial logic was used to site and balance energy demand (for example Ubitricity's V2X charge/supply matching and Plugsurfing), to distributed renewable generation where the same optimisation is applied to energy supply — placing the right generation asset, on the right structure, in the right location. It connects the power-electronics and energy-efficiency foundation directly to today's GHG/LCA, BESS and renewable-integration advisory.
